On Tuesday January 25, 2011, someone hacked onto Zuckerberg’s fan page on Facebook and left this message:
“Let the hacking begin. If facebook (sic) needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn’t Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way? Why not transform Facebook into a ‘social business’ the way Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus described it? [Link] What do you think? #hackercup2011″
Besides Zuckerberg and Assange Facenbook pages being hacked, French president Nicolas Sarkozy’s Facebook page was also hacked early this week. It said on his wall that he would not run for re-election. Sarkozy denied the fact and said “no system is infallible.”
Facebook is trying to step up security and posted a blog called “A Continued Commitment to Security.” It draws attention to Data Privacy Day, which is this Friday.
