Google’s hardware partner Sony has shown the world what it has been working on. The big japanese giant Sony debuted a few Internet-based HDTV products. Those include four integrated HDTVs and a Blu-ray player with Intel Atom CPUs running Google’s open source Android OS.
All of the TV’s have built-in WiFi and can bookmark content and apps from the Android Market. Punters get pre-installed multi-media and social-notworking apps and Sony has even bundled a RF qwerty keypad remote that’s chock full of buttons to keep TV fans occupied on their couches.
“Sony Internet TV is the world’s first HDTV that combines the big-screen impact of television and full Internet search to deliver an unrivalled entertainment experience,” said Mike Abary, SVP of Sony’s home division.
Sony hasn’t announced a UK price or availability but the kit will be out in the US from 16 October. The NSX-24GT1 HDTV costs $599.99, the NSX-32GT1 $799.99, the NSX-40GT1 is priced at $999.99 and the NSX-46GT1 will set you back $1,399.99. The NSZ-GT1 Blu-ray player is $399.
